Nautical Swap Card

I know it's been a long time since I last posted a card but life has been pretty hectic around here. I haven't had much card making time but did get this one made for a "nautical" theme swap in August. It's an easel card made using Birch's "The Land Downunder" paper and a Le Suh 3D, plus one of my favourite stamps. I got the idea from someone else's blog but I can't remember whose right now sorry.

I was really pleased with the way it turned out and the lady that I sent it to lives in Broken Hill, so when I came across this piece of the paper ...

...well I just had to use it didn't I!! I have inked around the edges of each piece with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink and I also inked over the map pieces with Adirondak's Butterscotch and Denim to accentuate the colours of the map.

I also added some colour to the background of the stamp and then attached a tiny starfish and some shells to make it a bit more interesting.

Elegant Ladies

It's a rainy day here in QLD so perfect for making cards. I can't show you what I made today though because they are for my class on Friday, but I can show you these two that I made the other day. They are both made from the one Le Suh 3D, with the first card just using the background image and the second using the 3D part of the image.

This one is made with pastel pink and cream cardstock and the DP is from Stampin' Up. The stitching pattern is from Hobbyjournaal and I've just stitched it in white and added some self adhesive pearls for decoration. I also added some lace and I've used my QuickKutz flourish with some roses and fluffy thread to decorate.

For this one I've used cream card (it looks white in the photo) and a dusty pink cardstock rather than the pastel pink, with a Martha Stewart punch along the edge. The DP is again from Stampin' Up, with lace, pearls, roses and flourishes to decorate.

On the beach

It was my daughter's birthday just over a week ago and she loves the beach so I made this card for her. The background paper is actually wall paper that a friend in Holland sent to me a few years ago. I thought it went quite well  with the 3D image and although you may not see it properly the ribbon is actually yellow and blue as well. The 3D is from Le Suh.

And I'm pleased to say she loved the card :)

T-Slide Card

Here is a card I made using a design from the SCS site. It's called a T-slide card and they are really easy and fun to make. This one was made using a Hobby Habit design from the Rock Hard Fairies range and the DP is from my stash.

Vintage Lady

Well it's BAS time again so I'll be spending the day on the computer doing hubby's bookwork....how boring! Once again I've left it to the last minute and I have 3 months of work to do and the BAS was due today...oops :(

In the meantime I just thought I'd quickly post a card that I made and sent to my best friend for her birthday. I am just starting to discover the world of vintage cards and was really happy with the way this one turned out. The cardstock is Bazzill Basics and the paper I used is from Prima Marketing's Pastiche Collection and it's called Butterfly Wings. I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink, added a Le Suh 3D, some flowers, ribbon and the border punch is the Martha Stewart DoilyLace Edge punch.

Happy 80th

Just a quick post today…this is a card that I made for a friend's 80^th birthday. The pattern is from a Hobbyjournaal magazine and the 3D is a Le Suh sheet.

Feeling Blue Two

Last one for tonight. This was my other card for the Feeling Blue swap and I just looooved this card...so much so that I didn't want to give it away LOL.

The stitching around the edge of the cards was all done by hand (I'm hopeless with a sewing machine!!). I'm afraid I can't remember where I got the background papers from but the Fairy Poppet image is a Reddy Die Cut 3D from the shop where I work. Isn't she cute!!

Feeling Blue

On the group that I belong to we did a "feeling blue" swap recently and this was the card that I made for my partner. The background papers are from a Scrapbook Kit that I bought called Rococo Dreams. I thought it looked great behind this image of the two ladies on their bikes. It reminded me of Paris.

Pretty in Pink

This was one of my first attempts at using Copic Markers. I only had a few colours but for a first effort I was quite happy with how it turned out. I made this card for a swap and it was to be a card made using scraps, so I've just used up some of my old papers that were in the drawer.

Nothing is harder

Recently my boss passed away after a year long battle with cancer. I made this sympathy card for her husband and the family. Although it looks black in the photos the second layer is actually silver mirri card.

The front section was scored with my Scor It board, embossed with Swiss Dots on the Cuttlebug and the bottom is a Martha Stewart punch. The message was printed on the computer and a Nestabilities template was used to cut it out.

I added some roses and beaded stamens from my stash and added a bit of Stickles to the roses.

Video Boy Again

Same digi image as before but this one was made for my nephew who turned 17 recently and is also a big game player. Again the background papers are from my stash and the image is coloured with watercolour pencils.

July 10th was my son's 14th birthday and seeing as he's an avid XBox player I thought this digi image would suit him perfectly. It looks just like him and he often sits in his room glued to the XBox with the food and drinks scattered on the floor around him LOL.

The digi is from Mo Manning and I coloured this one with watercolour pencils. The background paper is just one from my stash.

Birthday Embroidery

This is another birthday card made in March for another friend and again I'm using my favourite pinks and mauves. The embroidery pattern is from a magazine and I've embellished it with some corner stickers and a 3D, which again I think is a Nel Van Veen design.

Pink & Lilac Embroidery

I made this card back in March for a friends birthday. I just love the pale pinks and mauves and thought that the colours worked well with this 3D orchid by Nel Van Veen. I added self adhesive pearls just to finish it off.

Garden Bear

I made this birthday card for my Dad who loves his garden . The background paper is a scrapbooking sheet by paperpizazz. The image on the front is a 3D by Le Suh.

Scrap Card

I made this scrap card recently from an old image that I had stamped up and some scrap bits of card and paper. The main card is stamped with the same image in Brilliance pearl chocolate ink.

Birthday Cards for Twins

These are a couple of quick cards that I made for my sister in laws, sisters twins, who turn 3 this month. I thought the 3D pictures were cute and ideal for twins.

Christmas Cards

I made this ornament candle lantern for a swap on my group. It was made using card, acetate and 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper. The candle is a battery operated tea light candle. The base of the lantern is punched with my new Martha Stewart punch.

This embroidery card I made for my Mum this Christmas. I just love the little penguin and snowman 3D.

This one was made for a dear friend in the UK.

This is one of the cards that I made for Christmas this year. It is made with a Sizzix Christmas Collection template and the Scor Pal.

For this one I have used the Cuttlebug snowflake template and the snowman is from the Sizzix Christmas collection. The silver mirror card behind the snowmand and Season's Greetings hasn't shown up too well.
